Beneficial Ingredients

I want to spend a few moments and go over a few of the beneficial ingredients that Earths Curious Goods, LLC uses in the production of its products and the reasoning behind it.  I created the company with the goal of using sustainable practices and using natural materials as much as possible.  Creating products that future generations will come to appreciate. Hope this blog will enlighten you and help you make a few choices in the future.  So lets begin!

Shea Butter:  A favorite of mine and in my opinion, the best! The natural vitamins and fatty acids in shea butter adds moisture and helps the skin naturally produce collagen which improves skin elasticity; giving it a smooth youthful look.  Since it helps reduce inflammation, its great using after a day at the beach or prolonged sun exposure. (Our bath bombs and few of our soaps contain shea butter)

Coconut Oil:  An excellent moisturizer and often overlooked, coconut oil is naturally antibacterial and antifungal. The antioxidant vitamin E is found in coconut oil which helps soothe eczema, sunburn, and psoriasis. Also, the antioxidant vitamin E could help delay the occurrence of wrinkles because its known to protect skin cells from damage over time. Helping to strengthen the skin tissue and eliminate dead skin cells, coconut oil absorbs quickly into the skin. Studies have found that coconut oil reduces water loss in very dry skin and aids in hydration.

Epsom Salts:  Getting its name after a saline spring at Epsom in Surrey, England. Epsom salts absorb easily in the skin and helps cleanse your body. Also, it soothes muscle pain, decreasing swelling and aches  Stress has been known to drain the body of magnesium and increases the levels of adrenaline.  The use of Epsom salts help replenish magnesium in the body and the magnesium helps to produce serotonin, which is a mood elevator in the brain that helps create a feeling of calm and relaxation.

Sodium Bicarbonate:  A salt also known as baking soda, it balances the pH level of the skin and is a natural deodorant.  Sodium Bicarbonate relieves itching and minor skin irritation by neutralizing toxins on the skin’s surface.  It has also been known to improve the skins complexion over time.  (All of our bath bombs contain sodium bicarbonate)

Kaolin Clay:  Found naturally in the Earth, kaolin clay nourishes the skin and makes it smoother.  Effective in the care of oily skin, and helps purify the skin .

Olive Oil:  A wonderful moisturizer and doesn’t clog the skins pores.  It may help protect the skin from premature aging by preventing free radical damage to the skin.

Citric Acid: Great for acne prone skin! Citric acid is an antioxidant that cleanses the skin and can help reduce the process of aging.

Cocoa Butter: Naturally heals dry and sensitive skin.  Cocoa butter absorbs in the skin and remains for hours and could help in diminishing the signs of aging.  Improves skin elasticity and skin tone, plus soothes skin suffering from rashes or dermatitis.

Soy wax: Invented in the 1990’s by Michael Richards, soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oils of the soy bean.  Completely renewable and sustainable, soy wax burns clean, burns longer, and is eco-friendly.

Hope you enjoyed reading a few things and hope that you will look at using a few products with natural ingredients, whether it’s from my company or someone else. A favorite of mine that I personally use and find beneficial for my skin is St. Ives lotion. In particular the ‘Pear Nectar & Soy Body Lotion’, I find that the smell is pleasant and stays on my skin through the day. I like how they use natural moisturizers and does not contain animal ingredients.  I love the stuff and use it daily! If you have sensitive skin, try this stuff out. See pictures below.

We do have plans to make our own lotions in the near future so keep a look out! 🙂

Blessed Be!
